We are also proud to feature our very first weight loss club - Find YOUR Healthy Weight Club –a new 6 week program to provide nutrition education and advice, social support and plenty of fun surprises too. Led by D'Arcy Furness RHN, Choices Nutrition Consultant, the club meets for 60 minutes weekly for 6 weeks and includes a structured nutrition “lesson” and lots of time to connect to share tips, challenges and get nutrition advice on how to overcome hurdles on your weight loss journey.

Weekly Nutrition Tips
Each week on this webpage, we will feature exclusive nutrition tips to help you find YOUR healthy weight. This week's tip, written by Anja Ninkovic, is all about the most important meal of the day:

Breakfast is a great way to start your day!
While you sleep your body goes into fasting mode and in the morning we eat in order to break this fast. Skipping breakfast can deter your ability to lose weight because you are likely to snack more throughout the day because you are hungrier. Fasting slows down your metabolism, so eating breakfast within 2 hours of waking helps get your digestive system moving. Good choices for breakfast include high fibre options mixed with protein to help keep you full until lunch time. Choose things like sprouted grain bread with 1-2tbsp of natural almond butter with half a banana or steal cut oats with a bit of honey, some ground almonds and 1 piece of fruit. Studies have shown that people who eat breakfast are more productive throughout the day then people who skip breakfast. If you’re skipping breakfast because you feel full in the morning this means that you are likely eating too much before bed, try cutting back on snacks at bedtime so that you can feel hungry in the morning.
